Hi, my name is Michelle Connolly and I am a miniatures addict.
People ask how I got into doing Miniatures. As a child I played with my cousin's Barbie (or were they Sindy?) dolls. She had the house, the horse, the stables and all the other tiny items I secretly desired. I told myself that when I had a girl of my own, she would have the same. Fast forward to the birth of my daughter, I then had the perfect excuse to get everything for her. On a walk with hubby and my daughter in Cromer, we went into a touristy shop. There sat a kit for a dollshouse. It linked together with slots, but when I made it up, I covered the joins up to make it all look smooth and real. I scoured shops for wrapping paper and offcuts of wallpaper to decorate it. I even found some basic toy furniture for it ... I still have it today (25 years later) ... from then I was hooked!
